Phone Bank Volunteers Needed May 30
Calling all Santiago Hills parents! We are reaching out to you in regards to the message below from “Campaign for Irvine Schools” for phone banking as volunteers are needed. Please do consider helping out if you can and thanks in advance for your cooperation!
Why are volunteers needed and what will they do?
From The Irvine Unified Council PTA, each of the 36 IUSD schools are hopeful to provide parent volunteers (friends and family members welcome!) to help with Measure E phone banking, 10 parents for each designated evening starting this Monday.
A script will be provided along with a list of frequently asked questions. You do NOT need to be knowledgeable of Measure E. This is NOT selling anything or trying to argue with or convince anyone. This is simply for Voter Identification. This is just tracking whether they are a yes, no or undecided.
Phone banking begins Monday, April 11 from 5:30 – 8:30. From 5:30 – 6:00 we will train and provide dinner. Calls will be made from 6pm – 8pm and will be wrapped up around 8-8:30.
Santiago Hills School is scheduled on the following four dates:
Monday, April 11
Tuesday, April 26
Thursday, May 12
Monday, May 30

Original message:
Hello PTA Presidents & Site Coordinators,
My name is Fraya Radus & I am one of the Field Coordinators for the Measure E phone banking. Attached you will find the Phone Bank Calendar listing the nights that you are expected to recruit volunteers for. As a lot of you were unable to make the meeting on Thursday I will briefly go over the expectations and hopefully answer some of your questions.
Please review the Calendar so that you know which nights to recruit for. You are expected to recruit a minimum of 10 volunteers for each night that your school is assigned. Please note that volunteers from your school are welcome on any & every night but you are responsible for the dates on the calendar. I know this sounds like a lot, but it is necessary. Volunteers can be parents, friends, grandparents, high school students, teachers, etc. We would suggest making personal phone calls & talking to people directly rather than using emails to recruit in the beginning. Often times people are scared or intimidated until they understand the process.
When recruiting volunteers it is very helpful to explain the process.
They do NOT need to be knowledgeable of Measure E. Each person will be given a script to read along with a list of frequently asked questions. We are NOT selling anything or trying to argue with or convince anyone. These are simply for Voter Identification. We are just tracking whether they are a yes, no or undecided.
