AWISH – Cultural Festival with Food, Prizes & Activities – Friday May 13th 5-8pm
AWISH – Around the World In Santiago Hills – is just around the corner. The event will be held on our School Playground area this Friday, May 13th, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Attendance is free. Tickets for food, activities and the opportunity drawing are just $1 each. We hope to see you all there.
Our AWISH Cultural Festival is our annual celebration of the many heritages and backgrounds that make up our school and community. The intent of our celebration is to give back to the community and share the wonderful things that can happen with everyone comes together to make something wonderful happen. I have been a part of this since its inception, and am honored to be able to help continue this excellent tradition. I look forward to seeing you all there.
We have a great set of prizes for our opportunity drawing this year, including many exciting experiences with the teachers! Check out these great prizes:
ATA Martial Arts, Bake Walk, Balloon Animals, Used Book Sale, Crafts from China, Crafts from India, Crafts from Japan, Cub Scouts, Face Painting, Project Linus, and the City of Irvine will host both a craft booth and games out in the field. We will also be holding a small opportunity drawing again this year.
Don’t miss the special music and dance performances throughout the night, including dancers from India, drummers and dancers from China and the awesome Lion Dancers. They will be joined by our own renowned Rockin’ DJ for an evening of enjoyable entertainment.
We will have a Parade of Colors again this year, so please have your children come in the costume of their country to participate.
There is an open seating area for participants to bring your own chairs to enjoy the venue.
Calling all bakers: If you would like to bake something and donate it to the Bake Walk Activity, all you need to do is make your item, package it and send it in on the morning of the event with the Bake Walk Donation Form also found on the PTA Website. This is always a huge draw, so anything sweet (non-refrigerated) that you would like to donate is accepted.
Used book sale booth
We will accept donated books the day of the event, and bins will be available in front of the school for any additional donations. Books will be sold for $1 (paperback) and $2 (hardcover). They can be purchased with the same tickets used for the event.
