PTA Newsletter: Friday, April 22, 2016
Hello Santiago Hills Families,
Our school rocks! We truly know how to come together as a community and direct all our efforts towards one goal – to benefit each and every child in our school. We had another amazing and successful Jog a thon! We surpassed our goal of $35k for a total of…..$49,000!!! Most importantly, the kids had a great time and our school can continue to offer many programs that the kids and parents have come to enjoy. Thank you Kelly Carter and Kristen Lounsbury for your dedication in organizing another successful Jog. And many thanks to all the wonderful parents, grandparents and neighbors who came out to lend a hand (or two)!
Our annual cultural festival is fast approaching on Friday, May 13th. We currently have 14 country booths participating. There are still many countries that are not represented. Please consider hosting one with a friend so our community can enjoy a wide variety of food tastings from around the world. We have planning meetings every week. Join us at the next one on Tuesday, April 26 at 8:15am. More information can be found at: www.santiagohillspta.com/awish
STAFF APPRECIATION WEEK – May 2nd – 6th
Our teachers and support staff do so much for our kids and for the parents every day. Let’s show them our gratitude during Staff Appreciation Week from May 2nd – 6th. Information will be sent next week in your Thursday folders and from your amazing room reps.
LAST CALL FOR BOX TOPS
We are well into our third Box Tops contest! The final contest for the school year ends on Thursday, May 26. Top 2 classes submitting the most will win popsicle parties. As a reminder, expired Box Tops don’t count. You can clip your Box Tops and either put them in a ziplock bag labeled with student and teacher’s name or glue/tape them on the Collection worksheets available on the PTA website. They are also available in the front office next to the Reading Calendars.
