The Jog-A-Thon is a fun activity for the whole school – where each student walks, jogs, or runs for 30 minutes to show support for our school, and raise awareness of the importance of having an active healthy lifestyle.
The Jog-A-Thon is one of only two annual fundraisers that involves the parents and students in raising money to improve our school facilities and programs!

How it Works
Students collect pledges. A pledge envelope is provided for students to begin collecting pledges. Students can ask family, friends and neighbors to pledge a flat amount or to pledge per lap. Collect the flat money amount immediately and complete the pledge envelope to keep track of all pledges.
Sponsors can pledge/donate online via credit card or PayPal. In addition to check or cash, sponsors can also pay their pledge amount online with a credit card or PayPal: www.santiagohillspta.com/jog-a-thon/donate. Please include these online pledges on your pledge envelope and check the section that says “Online.”
Students jog on Jog-A-Thon day! Students will run according to scheduled times listed on the next page. Jog time is 30 minutes per group.
Students collect pledge money. After the Jog-A-Thon, students will receive a certificate with the number of laps they completed. They can then collect the pledge per lap money. Remember to thank all your sponsors! Turn-in your completed pledge envelope with all pledge money enclosed to your teacher by the Jog-A-Thon deadline.
How will the money be used this year?
A successful Jog-A-Thon is critical to maintaining the programs offered by the PTA and the support we give to the school. For example, the funds we raise through Jog-A-Thon can support Meet the Masters primary art program, Step Up To Writing for grades TK – 6th, the annual AWISH international community festival, staff support, and much more. Beyond that, our goal is to purchase Chromebook carts to provide technology support to the students and staff. The Chromebooks will also be used throughout the year to enhance learning in the classrooms. They will also be used for Smarter Balanced testing in the spring, allowing us to keep the computer lab open for all students.
What is a Chromebook?
A Chromebook is a laptop computer allowing students to securely share devices while having a personalized learning experience. Each child will have a private login, giving them access to their own work, apps, bookmarks, and more. Schools are the primary customers for Chromebooks, as enhanced security allows them to easily transfer between students. A long-life battery, easy setup and quick loading make them ideal for classroom use.
