Meet the Masters Primary Art
Our new primary art program has been a huge success. In March, Meet the Masters will present Japanese master artist Katsushika Hokusai. Art Assemblies are March 25th and the in-class lessons will be in early April after Spring Break. The students will be introduced to Asian art from both East and West and create paintings of bamboo using black ink.
In January, the Meet the Masters Primary Art program introduced the students to artist Frida Kahlo, known for her soulful self portraits that didn’t hide her poor health or her trademark eyebrows. Frida also loved to incorporate her pet animals into her artwork, and in the in-class lessons the students used oil pastels to create their own unique versions of Bonito, Frida’s beloved pet bird.
