31st Annual Astounding Invention Competition will be held on January 27, 2018 from 9:00-2:00 at Irvine Valley College. The Astounding Inventions Competition is a fair highlighting handmade inventions by students K-8 from the Irvine and Tustin unified school districts. The competition was established to spark student interest and learning in science, technology, engineering, math and creativity. Each year more than 450 students present inventions they conceived and crafted on their own. The students compete for $10,000 in cash prizes, certificates of achievement and ribbons from the Irvine Valley College Foundation. Two inventions will be selected for a pro bono prior patent search and help with a provisional patent application. There will be an informational assembly: K-3rd Graders: Tuesday, November 7th in the MPR from 2-2:35PM (Parents are strongly encouraged to attend with their students) 4th-6th Graders: Monday, November 6th in P3 during lunch from 12:20-12:40PM (students only).
